C1 Background and Explanation of Rationale | not provided |
C2 What are the hypotheses to be tested? |
We hypothesize that relational organizing works through its impact on social networks. For that reason, our research contains multiple research arms: 1. We will be conducting a social network survey in November 2018 to test the effect voter contact has on individuals’ networks. The dependent variables are: the size of their networks; the partisan composition of their networks; the impact of their network structures on voter engagement; and the degree of spillover among network members. |
C3 How will these hypotheses be tested? * |
1. Experiments: VoterCircle platform (we repressed 10% of the voter file); tests looking at low propensity Latino and Vietnamese voters in Santa Clara County. |
C4 Country | United States |
C5 Scale (# of Units) | VoterCircle included a sample of 1.5 million; the Latino & Vietnamese experiments include about 20000 voters, the social network survey about 4,000 respondents, the canvasser surveys about 100 canvassers; propensity score matching at least 500000 voters |

C10 Will the intervention be implemented by the researcher or a third party? | Researchers |
C11 Did any of the research team receive remuneration from the implementing agency for taking part in this research? | No |
C12 If relevant, is there an advance agreement with the implementation group that all results can be published? | No |
